A calendar year is considered to be a year beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31 (clause 5, article 2 of the Federal Law of 03.06.2011 N 107-FZ "On the Calculation of Time").

The stay of foreign citizens for more than 90 days can be extended if the following grounds are present:
• a patent for work has been obtained;
• an application has been submitted for a temporary residence permit (TRP) or a residence permit in Russia;
• a foreign citizen has been enrolled in an educational or scientific organization to receive education in full-time or part-time education;
• permanent residence in Russia on the basis of a residence permit, registered at the place of residence, a family member of a visa-free foreign citizen;
• a foreign citizen has the status of a participant in the State Program for Assistance to the Voluntary Resettlement of Compatriots Living Abroad to Russia, or the status of a family member of a participant in this program.
