The Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed a document changing the procedure for obtaining visas for spouses of Russian citizens
The Parliamentary Gazette
reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has developed a draft amendment to the "Regulation on establishing the form of a visa, the procedure and conditions for its registration and issuance, extension of its validity, restoration in case of loss, as well as the procedure for cancellation of a visa."The document proposes to supplement the section of the Regulation on an ordinary private visa. Such a visa will be issued for up to one year to a foreigner who is a close relative of a Russian citizen, including a spouse, parent, child, brother/sister or grandfather/grandmother.
The amendments are being made in order to implement the law on combating fictitious marriages of migrants, published on October 28, 2024 (more details about the law in our news).
The law will enter into force 90 days after its official publication, i.e. January 25, 2025.
Public discussion of the amendments to the Visa Regulations will last until December 3.
The amendments are expected to enter into force simultaneously with the law, i.e. January 25, 2025.
