Simplification of the procedure for obtaining a temporary residence permit for foreign students
The State Duma of Russia proposed to amend the Federal Law No. 115-FZ of 25.07.2002 «On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation» regarding the procedur e for obtaining a temporary residence permit for foreign students, namely, the fact that foreign citizens who arrived in the Russian Federation for the purpose of studying in a state educational or scientific organization, they will be able to obtain a new document - a temporary residence permit for the purpose of obtaining education (hereinafter - RVPO).
To obtain a RVPO, a foreign student will need to provide confirmation of admission to a full-time study program at a state university along with an application. At the same time, it is not required to confirm the knowledge of the Russian language and the basics of the legislation of Russia.
In addition a foreign citizen will be able to obtain a residence permit in a simplified manner within three years after graduation on the basis of the RVPO .
